A Seven-Day-Retreat includes unlimited access to the yoga studio, charming overnight accommodations with indoor and outdoor fireplaces, breakfast and dinner prepared by a local chef who cooks traditional Argentine meals using organic vegetables and fruits from our garden and orchards as well as beef, chicken and fresh fish accompanied by superb Argentine wines at dinner. Our kitchen will try to accommodate all dietary requests.
We offer a complimentary shuttle bus to take people to the local town (20 minutes away) and to neighboring towns to taste the local Argentine culture: outdoor farmers' markets, restaurants and shops selling local crafts. The shuttle will also be available for trips to the Los Alerces National Park.
Our on-site daytime staff includes a ranch manager and two assistants.
Accommodations will be provided for guests at the La Rinconada Inn and the following nearby locations: Hosteria Arroyo Claro and individual cabins in the Rivadavia Valley.
The yoga studio has floor to ceiling windows giving expansive views of the Andean river valley below. The floor measures 720 square feet (40' x 18') and is constructed of red Eucalyptus. There is ample wall space for inversions and we have standard props - i.e. blocks, straps and blankets - for up to 30 practitioners.

Horse Trekking
Enjoy 5 days on a remote and spectacular trail in the Lake District of Argentina. Our unique trip follows the Tigre River valley through a land of towering beech trees, bamboo forests and milky glacier waters. Using La Rinconada ranch horses, modern pack gear, and experienced local guides this adventurous ride reaches a magnificent and ancient glacier in the heart of the Andes Mountains. We've included a few photos to give you a better sense of the trek.
Daily Itinerary
Day 1:
Airport pick up in San Carlos de Bariloche, a scenic 3 hour drive south to La Rinconada Ranch and evening orientation and gear check. A send-off Argentine barbeque party and comfortable night's sleep ends the day.
Days 2-4:
After eating a hearty breakfast, the group will drive 30 minutes to the trailhead at Lago Cholila. Guides and horses will be ready and waiting for an early start in the saddle. Over the next 2 days, we will travel west up the Tigre River valley. We will be circumnavigating the beautiful turquoise waters of Lago Cholila in the shadow of the Tres Picos mountain, which dominates the landscape west of our trail. Our night's camp will be half way up the valley and will set us up for the next day's tough climb to the upper valley. There you will find yourself in one of the most pristine alpine settings imaginable. We ride through deep bamboo forests passing the sheer face of Dos Picos mountain until running head-long into the glaciated Andes mountains. The many river crossings will get you well acquainted with the beautiful clear waters of Rio Tigre. Our second night will be at the western end of the basin directly below the sheer walls and waterfalls of glacier-covered Cerro Chato.
Day 4:
This a rest day for the horses and a perfect time to explore the area on foot. The adventurous can hike up the northern section of the Tigre basin to the source of this great watershed. Others can try their luck fishing for trout and salmon.
Days 5-6:
The return ride to Lago Cholila culminates on the sixth evening with a luxurious night back at La Rinconada Ranch.
Day 7:
After a delicious breakfast we'll drive to San Carlos de Bariloche airport.
The price includes airport pickup and drop off, 2 nights at La Rinconada Ranch, all food and group gear. You will be responsible for all personal gear.
This is a unique trip to one of the most beautiful mountain ranges on earth. It is also a very strenuous ride and therefore requires previous riding experience. The days are long with many hours in the saddle over difficult terrain. This is a remote alpine setting where we will be days away from the nearest road. Self-reliance, horse sense, and an adventurous spirit are all very important.
Trips are available anytime from January through March with advanced booking.

The Inn at La Rinconada is also available for vacation rental for your family or group. We generally offer 3-day and 7-day rentals, but can often accomodate varying lengths of stay to suit your vacation needs.
